This page covers Housemap (beta) only. The rest of the Handy Circle website and apps are covered by the Handy Circle Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Housemap Terms of Service
Effective October 17, 2026. Last updated October 18, 2026, when the tool was renamed from Home File to Housemap and moved to gethousemap.com, and added the logbook, private and household links, and email reminders.
Agreement
These terms are between you and Handy Circle, Inc. ("Handy Circle", "we"). Housemap is offered to residents of the United States for homes in the United States. By using Housemap you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
Beta and experimental
Housemap is a beta experiment. Features may be incomplete, may not work, and may change or be removed at any time without notice.
Results are estimates
Housemap combines public records with AI. Public records can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. AI can misread a label, guess a date incorrectly or suggest work that does not apply to your house. Cost ranges are shown only for Massachusetts addresses and are typical market ranges from our cost guides, not quotes. Details you type in yourself are used as you enter them. Treat every result as an estimate.
Where records and pros are available
Public property records are connected in some states only, and a state's service can leave out counties or fields or stop answering. Handy Circle pros work in Massachusetts today. Outside Massachusetts, Housemap does not offer booking, and a notify email you leave is not a promise that pros will join in your area or by any date.
Not professional advice
Housemap does not give professional, inspection, engineering, legal or safety advice, and it is not a home inspection. Do not use it to decide whether equipment is safe to run. If you suspect a gas leak, carbon monoxide or an electrical hazard, leave the house and call 911 or your utility.
A pro confirms on site
Before any work, a qualified pro should look at the house or equipment in person and confirm what is needed. Work you book through Handy Circle is covered by the Handy Circle Terms of Service.
Recall checks
Recall results come from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission database, matched on the brand and model read from your label. The database and our matching can be incomplete. "No recall found" does not mean your equipment has no recall. Check with the maker and at saferproducts.gov.
Your photos and information
Only upload photos you have the right to share, and only of equipment labels. Do not upload photos of people or personal documents. You allow us to process what you submit to run Housemap, and if you save a file, to store and use it as the Privacy Policy describes.
Email reminders
Reminders are optional and start only after you confirm by email. They are general upkeep suggestions based on your file, your logbook and National Weather Service alerts and forecasts, which can be late, wrong or missing. Do not rely on them for safety. Unsubscribe from any email in one click.
Your logbook and links
Logbook entries and the printable home history are written by you. Handy Circle does not check them, and they are not an inspection, a certification or a statement by Handy Circle about the house. Keep entries true if you hand the history to someone else. You are responsible for who you give your private link and household link to: anyone with the private link can change your file and logbook. Make a new private link from your file if one gets out. Entries can be changed from your private link; to remove one or delete your file, email hello@handy-circle.com.
Acceptable use
Use Housemap for your own home or a home you have a real reason to look up. Do not:
- scrape it, query it in bulk or with automated tools, or get around its request limits;
- use it to look up, track or harass people;
- upload unlawful, harmful or misleading content;
- interfere with, probe or reverse engineer the service;
- copy, resell or republish its results or data as your own product.
We may block access that breaks these rules.
Outside sources
Housemap relies on sources we do not control, including MassGIS, other state and regional public records services, the U.S. Census Bureau, the CPSC, InterNACHI, Anthropic and Google. We are not responsible for their content or availability.
No warranty
Housemap is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Handy Circle is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss or cost that comes from relying on Housemap results. Our total liability for any claim about Housemap is limited to $50. Some laws do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes and ending the service
We may change these terms, or change or stop Housemap, at any time. If we change the terms we will post them here with a new last updated date. Using Housemap after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
